The State of the IATL Championship: It has been over 1 year since OPC's IATL Championship has last been defended, occurring on March 29, 2009 against Karl in the RainDance match. Since this time, very little activity has occurred involving the title, due to Hagaki's death and lack of competition. So what has happened?
January 1st, 2010: The IATL Championship was stolen right out from under OPC, and he did not even realize it until several hours later. Purportedly, Karl stole the title, but it came into the grasps of Tower. Per IATL Championship bylaws, after 24 hours of possession, the holder of the IATL Championship becomes the interim champion (in this case, Tower). The original champion (OPC), then has one week to reclaim the title, either by facing the interim champion, or steeling back the title. OPC was able to perform the latter on January 3rd, right in front of Tower's face. However, a mutual understanding was gained in that there would be a future IATL Title Match between OPC and Tower. March 27, 2010: Nearly one year after the previous IATL Title Defense, OPC was expected to finally face-off against Tower, at the Universal Mall Brawl. Unfortunately, Tower's vehicle was decommissioned (not by the IATL Commission though), and was unable to make the match. However, Karl (who may have been scheduled to be the referee for the match), was to be a stand-in. When it was decided the match just would not be taking place, OPC and Karl filled out a contract for a future IATL Championship bout.
March 28, 2010: One of the bystanders from OPC and Karl's last title match asked OPC, "When is the next title match going to be?" OPC laid down the challenge to the associate (name withheld for IATL legal purposes) right then and there, but the challenge was declined.
So, for quick reference:
-OPC is still the champ
-OPC and Tower want to fight but it may never occur.
-OPC and Karl will probably fight again because we have no original ideas
-"The Associate" could be a future contender
-Hagaki is dead and therefore is ineligible for the title
